Regrette rien

I started painting when I was 53. I taught myself when materials were more expensive and scarcer and internet access to shopping and reference photos were almost non existent.
Many people who come to my classes or who see my work comment on how they used to draw or paint when young but haven't kept up with it, much to their regret. The time to start painting is always NOW. Have no regrets.

Two from the last couple of days

Bassett Hound - Watercolour in sketch book 10cmx10cm

My recent posts have been a bit on the serious side so yesterday I wanted to have some fun and found this little guy eager to be in my sketch book.

Lagoon -  Watercolour in sketch book 17cmx27cm

I don't know why  but I find landscapes a real challenge - I'm determined to improve though.

Don't forget this Saturday at SAWS - FREE workshop.  See details at right.

Resting in slips

Resting in slips  - oil on canvas  20cm x 36cm

Gawler Backyard

Gawler Backyard - oil on canvas 20cm x 40cm

I have resisted painting landscapes for some time now.  But seeing others paint
them with alacrity has spurred me on to try my hand.

I have started small, just to get a feel for the genre.  I'll post a few more shortly.
