Looking towards the future - watercolour - 27cm x 37cmThe lot of the Australian aboriginal people hasn't always been a happy one. However, I believe and sincerely hope that the future will be much brighter for them. (At least the Federal Government is now a much more understanding and tolerant one.)
This painting allowed me to explore shadows and tonings to bring out the facial features.
It's always better to try to pose your subject outdoors if you can, that is, if you wish to exploit the contrast provided by strong natural illumination.
